9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
There are an estimated 2.14 million youth and adults in Washington State with criminal records. That means 2.14 million people that potentially face housing, employment, education, benefits, loan, social and other discrimination. Glenn E. Martin, a formerly incarcerated Changemaker said, “those closest to the problem are closest to the solution, and furthest from power and resources”.
Join youth and adults impacted by the criminal legal system and our loved ones as we bring our power and resources to Olympia to urge your legislators to transform the face of justice. This is an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and bills that impact you, and most importantly have your voice heard! There will also be some amazing guest speakers, including the first formerly incarcerated elected official in the nation, Rep. Tarra Simmons.
